Old Town Music Hall
On October 13th & 18th, 2002 the PCHC was invited to the Old Town Music Hall in El Segundo, CA for a screenin' of "Frankenstein", starrin' Colin Clive an' Boris Karloff an' "Dracula", with Bela Lugosi. I expected a movie. I wasn't prepared for an "experience"!

We were treated like kings & queens! Ever'one dug our coaches, an' no one treated us as pariahs...like some o' the car shows I've been to. The staff an' patrons respect classics: movies, cars, an' otherwise!

The Old Time Music Hall shows mainly classic an' silent movies. Silent movies require musical accompaniment: The Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ.

I thought pipe organs had...pipes, but that's jus' part of it. The Wurlitzer has bells, gongs, drums, lights...it's an' orchestra played by one man! We got the 50 cent tour an' were shown  the insides: the pipes, the bellows, the circuits, an' tubes. In a word: facinatin'!

The "experience" consisted of: A performance by Bill (the proprietor) on the Wurlitzer, a sing-a-long (Yeah, I sang! Wanna make somethin' out of it!), a Laurel & Hardy comedy short, an' intermission, an' then the main feature. It felt like I'd stepped back in time to 1931, right down to the Dad's root beer & coconut macaroons at the concession stand!

If ya find yerself in Southern California, bop on over to the Old Town Music Hall an' experience the "experience"! Ya won't be sorry ya did!
