Rob's '63 Superior
"I got the 63 for free, like I said from a grim rides classified. He ran an ad to get it hauled off because an old room mate moved away and left it there. He since got married and his wife wanted it GONE! The ex-roommate gave him permission to get rid of it, so he ran an ad in grim rides classifieds free to who ever hauls it off. Whoever takes the car must take all spare parts also (they had parted out another 63 hearse also) so it came full of extra hearse parts to boot. I e-mailed him immediately but he told me it was already claimed, (like I figured). About a month passed and he e-mailed me back and said the guy never showed so it was mine if I wanted it. I was there in no time (Seattle, I'm from Kelso WA) I  thought this car has got to be a real heap of junk to be free. But to my surprise it wasn't bad. It was love at first sight.
It had sat for about 12 years and was really dirty but it was still beautiful to me. I brought it home ,put in points & plugs ,put the fuel line in a gas can. (the tank smelled really bad) and it fired right up with no problems. I have since had the fuel tank flushed and re lined and all the brakes completely redone. I have put quite a few miles on the car now and it seems to be really reliable. (the odometer shows around 81,000 miles)
At the time I got the car I had a 68 MM. I was so lucky to find the 63 because about a week after I got it, A 16 year old girl ran a red light and T-boned my 68.She hit us dead center in the pillar between the drivers door and the front fender at about 40 MPH. My 1 year old and I escaped without a scratch. (hearses are safe). My wife used to hate my hearse but since the accident she has warmed up to them a little bit. If we would have been in a smaller car I'm sure we would have died.
I have a lot more photos of my 63 if you would like me to send some just let me know."

Thanks Rob Wallis

A FREE HEARSE? Some guys have all the luck!

As ya've found out hearses are a lot safer for the occupants than whoever hits one. If that ain't a good enough reason to own one....they're waaay cool too!

Thanx for the bitchin' pix! Rob there'll always be room for any pix ya wanna send us!
