Steve's '72 M-M
Here's Steve's '72 Miller-Meteor, provin' that perseverance pays off when yer huntin' for yer dream car!

"I just missed an '84 endloader at a local mortuary. But I thought if I kept looking, I would find my hearse. It sounded dumb enough to work, so I called "every" funeral Home in the phonebook. After about six calls, the woman who answered the phone said they had an oldie out back they were thinking of selling. I called back to speak to the owner and he said he had an old '72 out back that didn't run, been sittin' about seven years. He had replaced the engine with a 1974-472 that was rebuilt. Dig this, the dude who put the engine in left for Florida the night he got it running, said when he came back he would finish it up. He put ten miles on it so the owner could drive around town and do first calls. Well the dude died when he went home. The owner got a 1980 model, used it as a primary, and the '72 has been sitting out back ever since. That was in '95......Long enough story, the "completely stock" Miller-Meteor Caddy was sunk in the ground on four flat tires. Plants growing up the sides. Freshly rebuilt engine all spider webbed in. Good body, good glass, little surface rust and minor problems. The inside smells like it has been sitting awhile, moldy etc. Anyway, I got it for $600.00!! "

This baby won't need much restoration to stand out! Groovy, Steve!

UPDATE: April 01, 2003

Update from Steve:

"Hello, shot you an updated pic of the engine after a little attention. Had to gut the insides to the firewall to solve a couple of water leaks, that's ok though because "every" piece has gotten individual attention. The interior should be wicked, all black of course with purple lights. Also, my daughter was looking at pics of the hearse when I had it exhumed from the ground and noticed the ghost sitting in the drivers seat with his hands on the steering wheel. Damn ghosts."
